There are many things I learned from reading the information from the link stated above. An interesting fact I learned was that closely related species tend to have a similar number of chromosomes. Also another thing I learned was that at the gene level, chimps and people are over 98% the same. Which I found interesting because chimps and humans are closely related. Which leads me to find this fact more intersting that Chimps and humans started out with exactly the same chromosomes. Which is interesting if you ask me. Also if you ask me why studying genetics is important? I will tell you it is important because: Scientists hope that comparative genomics will eventually lead to a better understanding of human disease, evolution, and population genetics. This study will help us cure diseases like cancer aids. All in all this is what i learned from genetics.
